My name is Magdalena Piech and I am a Polish-American artist based in Berlin. My work weds graphite and paper to summon the themes that drive me — the vulnerabilities of the physical form, the ideas of guilt and shame, and the erotic miseries that lie at the core of human existence. Using self as a model, I directly put myself in the hands of riggers, fetishists and photographers to create strong and authentic references. Bodily autonomy is central to my beliefs – however submissive or degrading, it is my choice how I use my body.
